Obituary of Marie Agnes Erb

The death of Marie Erb of Quispamsis, NB, wife of Sydney Erb, occurred Sunday, September 20th, 2009, at her home. Born in Millstream, NB, she was the daughter of Jean (Osbourne) Parlee and the late Gordon Parlee. Marie was educated at Sussex Composite High School and Fredericton Teacher’s College. She had a successful teaching career that varied over a span of twenty-five years. Marie taught at The Dr. Wm. F. Roberts Hospital School, a private Kindergarten in Ketepec, Rothesay Baptist Christian School and in Minto. She also worked on a part-time basis in Dietary Services at Ridgewood Veteran’s Wing and at the Saint John Regional Hospital Sewing Room. Prior to her illness, Marie was working with various Home Care Agencies where she helped look after the needs of seniors. She enjoyed cooking family dinners and took great pride in the beautiful flowers she grew and cared for. However, Marie’s true passion in life was spending time with her dear family, especially her much loved grandchildren. Besides her husband, Sydney and mother, Jean, Marie is also survived by three sons, Peter Erb (Heather) of Rothesay, Jeff Erb (Lisa) of Quispamsis and David Erb (Renée) of Fredericton; one sister, Betty Damery of Oromocto and six precious grandchildren, Matthew, Sarah, Lauren, Avery, Evan and Kate. As well as her father, Marie was predeceased by one brother, Fred Parlee. Resting at Kennebecasis Select Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB, (506) 849-2119, visitation will take place Monday from 6:30-9:00 PM. A funeral service will be held from Kennebecasis Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009, at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place in Riverbank Cemetery, Norton. Marie’s family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff of the Kennebecasis Valley Extra Mural Program for the wonderful care she received.
