Obituary of Clarence Joseph Richard
The death of Clarence Richard of Quispamsis, NB, husband of Florence (Doucette) Richard, occurred Monday, December 29th, 2008, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, NB, he was the son of the late Alfred and Josephine (Chaisson) Richard. Clarence was a faithful member of The Men of St. Mark’s. He enjoyed playing the guitar, fishing and woodworking. Besides his wife, Florence, Clarence is also survived by two daughters, Blenda Jensen, Saint John, NB, and Cynthia Allen (Richard), Rothesay, NB; one son, Dereck Richard (Carro), Rothesay, NB; three sisters, Betty Richard, Yvonne Perry (Buddy) and Nora Kane (Joseph), all of NB; four brothers, James Richard (Mary), Joseph Richard (Gail), Alfred Richard (Sandra), all of NB and Eldon Richard (Hilda), ON; eight grandchildren, Emily and Gina Richard, Tammy Symons, Lisa Barrett, Tina and Kristen Jensen, Kimberly and Christopher Daye; eight great grandchildren, Jessica, Samantha, Mallory, Allison, Hope, Stephen, Caleb and Michael. Clarence was predeceased by one son, Alfred Richard and three brothers, Danny, Alvin and Wilford Richard. Resting at Kennebecasis Select Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB, (506) 849-2119, with visitation on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Vigil prayers will be held Thursday at 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 171 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, Friday, January 2nd, 2009, at 10:00 AM. A reception will follow, in the church hall. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens, Saint John. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Kennebecasis Valley Food Basket, the Animal Rescue League or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick.
