Obituary of Alfred James Frontin

The death of Alfred Frontin of Darlings Island, NB, formerly of Maple Ridge, BC, occurred Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008, at the Ridgewood Veteran’s Wing. Born in Saint John, NB, on November 7th, 1917, he was the son of the late Thomas and Arthemise (Landry) Frontin. Alfred was a decorated veteran, who served in both the Royal Canadian Air Force and the Royal Canadian Army. He was a member of the Rothesay and Maple Ridge Legions. Alfred also served as a loyal member of the Masonic Commonwealth Lodge #156, F. & A.M. for forty-four years. At his time of retirement, he was employed as a millwright in Vancouver, BC. Alfred was a champion bowler and dart player; he also enjoyed fishing and gardening. He is survived by one daughter, Theresa Scribner (Bob), Darlings Island, NB; one son, Gary Frontin (Cindy), Canberra, Australia; one sister, Laura Frontin Guillemette, QC; twin brother, Wilfred Frontin (Geri), BC and brother, Omer Frontin (Theresa), NS; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Alfred was predeceased by three sisters, Elenda, Annvelina and Roseanne; four half-sisters, Emilie, Margarite, Catherine and Bertha; one brother, Raymond and three half-brothers, Edmond, Leo and Ambrose. Arrangements are entrusted to Kennebecasis Select Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB, (506) 849-2119, with visitation on Sunday from 7-9 PM. A Tribute to a Veteran service will be held on Sunday at 7:00 PM followed by a Masonic tribute at 8:00 PM. A memorial service will be held from Kennebecasis Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, December 8th, 2008 at 11:00 AM. A reception will follow, at the funeral home.
