Archie Myles

Obituary of Archie Myles

Myles, Gordon Archibald “Archie” passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday, May 8. Born April 24, 1957 in Saint John, N.B., Archie was the beloved son of Barbara A. (Magee) Myles and Gordon H. Myles. He was an avid bowler, bingo player and animal hugger. Archie took great joy in watching hockey and baseball games, and in reading the sports page daily to check the stats of his favorite teams, the Montreal Canadians and Toronto Blue Jays. He had a great love for people and was always ready with a hug or kiss (or three), the heck with the handshakes. Archie will always be remembered for his innocent humor which would often lighten a serious situation. He enjoyed spending time with his best buddies Billy Wright, Brian Corbin and Michael Gormley. At his home in Oak Bay Archie enjoyed going to workshop (St. Croix Vocational Center), attending church and singing in the choir. In his youth Archie attended Princess Elizabeth School and later attended The Chalet in Renforth. Archie will be sadly missed by his devoted mother, Barb Myles, his loving father, Gordon Myles (Karen), brothers, Wayne Myles (Joan) and Hutson Myles (Diana); sisters, Carol Myles, Bette Theriault and Barb Baldwin (Jeff). He is also survived by half sisters, Janet Keusch (Cornel) and Maureen Gravel (Rob); as well as, a brother-in-law, Dave Owen. Also saddened by his passing are numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and several aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by nephew, Baby David Owen and his brother-in-law, Bill Theriault. The family invites you to visit them at Kennebecasis Select Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, on Monday, May 12 from 1:00-3:00 or 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 171 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, on Tuesday, May 13 at 11:00 a.m. A reception will immediately follow the Mass, at the church.
