Obituary of Robert Kennedy

The death of Colin Kennedy of Saint John, NB, husband of the late Betty (Gibson) Kennedy, occurred on Tuesday, January 1st, 2008, at his residence. Born in Youngs Cove, NB, he was the son of the late Bruce and Hazel (McVicar) Kennedy. Colin was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved farming. Colin was also a strong Christian and church going man. Colin is survived by twin daughters, Joan Kennedy (Mike Davis) of Lake Echo, NS and Jane Wiggins (Gerald) of Quispamsis; late companion, Aileen Fahey’s children, Kitty, Marjorie, Elta and Eldora; five grand children, Chris Rixon, Andrew Wiggins, Kari Rixon, Mike Wiggins, and Kim Rixon; seven great-grandchildren, Glenn Jefferies-Rixon, Kayla Jefferies-Rixon, Emma Wiggins, Samantha Newton-Rixon, Maddison Wiggins, Jesse Wiggins and Devin German-Rixon; several nieces and nephews. Besides his first wife, Betty and both parents, Colin was also predeceased by one sister, Ethel Pincock; four brothers, Clifford, Beverely, Ralph and Lloyd; and companion Aileen Fahey. Resting at Kennebecasis Select Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB (506) 849-2119, with visitation on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 4th, 2008, at 1:30 pm, from Kennebecasis Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens, Saint John, NB.
