Obituary of Charlie S. MacDougall

The homegoing of Charles MacDougall of Rothesay, husband of Vera (Myers) MacDougall, occurred on Thursday, November 22nd, 2007, at the SJRH. Born in Bloomfield, PEI, he was the son of the late Fraser and Sarah (MacAusland) MacDougall. Charlie was a long-time member of Rothesay Baptist Church, worked for many years as an insurance agent with companies such as Hope Grant Ins., Sovereign Ins., and AGM where he retired due to failing health. He committed much of his time in support of and fundraising for Cardiac Rehab at the SJRH; as well as, attending Good Life Fitness Centre. Charlie faithfully served his Lord in various ministries, S.S. Superintendent, deacon, visitation and always the first one greeting you with a smile. Charlie is survived by one son, Craig (Sheila) of Quispamsis; two daughters, Janice Reynolds (Jamie) of Quispamsis and Karen Boyd (Jamie) of Rothesay; one daughter-in-law, Debbie Pierce of Edmonton, AB; two brothers, Lloyd (Betty) of Rothesay and Ralph (Rita) of Saint John; one sister, Eleanor Baxter (Bob) of Essex, ON; one sister-in-law, Theresa MacDougall of Charlottetown, PE; ten grandchildren, Jeffrey Reynolds (Melanie), Julie Brewer (Adam), Jaclyn Lomax (Jon), Taylor and Olivia MacDougall, Kyle, Cody, Caleb and Janie-Lynn Boyd and Corey Pierce; two great-grandsons, Austin and Xavier Reynolds; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one son, Ronnie; one sister, Elizabeth; three brothers, Ernest, Cecil and David. Resting at Kennebecasis Select Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB (506) 849-2119, with visitation on Saturday from 7-9 pm and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Monday, November 26th, 2007 at 11:00 am from Rothesay Baptist Church on the Vincent Road in Quispamsis. Interment will take place in Rothesay Baptist Cemetery, Quispamsis, NB. For those who wish, donations may be made to Rothesay Baptist Church, Gideon Memorial Bible Plan, Hampton Bible Camp-chair fund, SJRH Foundation-Cardiac Rehab Fund or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
