Obituary of Albertine Losier

Losier, Marie Albertine - Albertine (Abby) passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 24, 2007, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Abby was the daughter of the late Albert and Ida (Chiasson) Chiasson of Bois-Gagnon, NB. She is survived by her devoted husband of 47 years Wilfred, one son and three daughters. Gary (Shalene) of Quispamsis, Cheryl Broderick (Dr. Thomas) of Glendale AZ, Barbara McCrossin (Kevin) of Grand Bay-Westfield NB, and Krista Dolan (Frank) of Fredericton NB. Abby will be deeply missed by her 13 grandchildren Casey, Taylor, Delaney and Loryn Losier; Ethan, Maghan and John-Thomas Broderick; Benjamin, Calder and Jack McCrossin; Abigail, Isabelle and Lily Dolan. Three sisters Gertrude Hebert of Dieppe, Odette Clifford of Saint John, and Gloria Boudreau of St-Sauveur. Seven brothers Eustache and Richard of Bois-Gagnon, Adelbert of Montreal, Claude of St-Isidore, Lorenzo of Bathurst, Gabriel and Jean of Tracadie-Sheila. Besides her parents, she was pre-deceased by two brothers Amedee and Roger. Abby shared her special love for children with all those who came to her at Baby Bear Kindergarten in Champlain Heights where she taught for 17 years, by volunteering with Girl Guides of Canada for 6 years as a leader and sharing her faith as a Cathecist for a number of years at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Quispamsis. An avid and gifted quilter and gardener, she also enjoyed her hobbies of walking, golfing, bowling, sewing, reading and watching movies with her grandchildren. Abby believed in giving back to her community by volunteering her time in her current parish of St. Mark’s with the Catholic Women’s League, as a Eucaristic Minister, and on the Arts & Environment Committee, she has also served as CWL Past President at St. Joachim’s Parish in Saint John and with the Knights of Columbus on various fund raising activities. This gracious lady has touched the lives of many people and will always be remembered for her gentle, open nature and easy smile. From our hearts to God’s arms, Abby will be missed. Resting at Kennebecasis Select Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB, with visitation on Thursday from 7-9 and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Vigil Prayers will be held on Friday at 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Mark's Catholic Church, 171 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, on Saturday October 27th, 2007, at 10 AM. A reception will follow, at the church. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or St. Mark’s Building Fund.
