Obituary of Dorothy E. Marr
The death of Dorothy E. Marr, wife of the late Arthur T. Marr, occurred on Thursday, October 4th, 2007, at Loch Lomond Villa, Saint John, NB. Born in Berwick, NB on April 10th, 1914, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary (Ellison) Smith. Prior to moving into Loch Lomond Villa in February of 2007, she resided at Kings Valley Manor, Quispamsis, NB. Dot was a member of Victoria Street Baptist Church and Main Street Baptist Church in Saint John. She was a life member of the Quispamsis Seniors and enjoyed bowling with the Kennebecasis Wednesday morning ladies. She also enjoyed playing 45’s, crocheting and knitting. Dot was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Dorothy is survived by two sons, LeRoy D. “Roy” Marr (Muriel) of Rothesay and Dr. Lawrence B. “Larry” Marr (Sandra) of Sewickley, Pennsylvania, USA; three grandchildren, Brent D. Marr (Julie), Darren L. Marr (Rebecca) and Ryan Marr; two great-granddaughters, Ava and Caitlyn; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by an infant son; one brother, Robert; four sisters, Evelyn, Helen, Mabel and Marjorie; as well as, a great-granddaughter, Caleigh. We would like to express our sincere thanks to the nurses and staff of Loch Lomond Villa for their kindness and excellent care. Arrangements are entrusted to Kennebecasis Select Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB (506) 849-2119, with visitation on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 8th, 2007 at Kennebecasis Funeral Home Chapel, at 11:00 am. Interment will take place in Wesley United Cemetery, Berwick, NB. For those who wish, donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
