Obituary of Helen Beatrice Purdy
The death of Helen B. Purdy of Rothesay, NB, wife of the late Herbert R. Purdy, occurred on Monday, October 1st, 2007, at her residence. Born in Saint John, NB, she was the daughter of the late George and Edith (MacInnis) Andrews. Helen was a seventy-nine year member of Main Street Baptist Church, Chartered member of Quispamsis Seniors, Life member of Agnes Waring of the WMS, former Regional Hospital volunteer and especially enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends. Helen will always be remembered for her unconditional love she had for her entire family and friends; as well as, her immovable faith she had in God and how she walked with Him daily. It was her mission in life to pass along her faith to her children. Helen is survived by four children, Douglas Purdy (Ann) of Miramichi City, NB, Carolyn Ferguson (Wayne) of Sussex, NB, Janet Purdy (Richard) and Donald Purdy, both of Rothesay; special daughter-in-law, Margie; sister-in-law, Ann Andrews; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Helen was the late surviving member of her immediate family, She was predeceased by an infant daughter, Linda; two sisters, Gertrude Robertson and Jean Nicholson; two brothers, John and George Andrews. Resting at Kennebecasis Select Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB (506) 849-2119, with visitation on Tuesday from 7-9 PM and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 4th, 2007, at Main Street Baptist Church, Saint John, NB, at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Main Street Baptist Church - Building Fund.
