Obituary of Beverly L. Small
Beverly L. Small, 72 of the Kingston Peninsula, passed away at the Loch Lomond Villa on September 20th, 2007. Bev had courageously battled Alzheimer’s for fourteen years. Born in North Head, Grand Manan on December 20th, 1934, the son of Merrill & Rita (Thomas) Small. Bev was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by his wife, Claudia (Winchester) of fifty years, one son, David Small (Maureen) of Clifton Royal; Kim Small (Rejean Girard) of Boucherville, QC and four loving grandchildren, Stephanie, Melanie, Sarah and Nathan.; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one daughter, Cathy at nine years of age; two brothers, Richard of New Jersey and Fletcher of Grand Manan. Bev was employed with the Federal Government Customs and Excise Department, as a Payroll Auditor and travelled the Province for many years prior to his early retirement due to Alzheimer’s. He was Anglican by faith and served on the Vestry of Kingston Parish, was a former chairman of the Local Service District on the Peninsula. He loved his hobby farm, maintaining his large property, gardening and raising animals. Resting at Kennebecasis Select Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB (506) 849-2119, with visitation on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 25th, 2007, at Trinity Anglican Church, Kingston, NB, at 2:00 PM. Overflow parking will be available at the Baptist Church, with a shuttle service up to Trinity. Following cremation, a private graveside service will be held in Maple Grove Cemetery on Grand Manan, at a later date.
