Obituary of Mary Loughery

Loughery, Mary Aileen Warneford; It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mary Loughery who was called to Heaven on Thursday, February 15th, 2007, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Mary was born February 5th, 1920 in Hampton, NB. She was the daughter of the late Harold and Helen (Warneford) Fairweather of Hampton, NB. Mary is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 52 years, Ralph Loughery and her loving and only son, Hal, whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by sisters, Edith (Fairweather) Ibbotson, Saint John and Kathryn (Fairweather) Harriott, Rothesay; as well as, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Patricia (Fairweather) Myers. Mary was a graduate of The New Brunswick Teachers College in Fredericton and taught in Saint John and New Denmark. She also operated her own kindergarten. She touched the lives of many children, all of whom loved her dearly. She was a member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Rothesay, the ACW at St. Paul’s Anglican Church and was a life long member of the Fairvale Outing Association. Mary was a talented artist capturing the beauty of nature on her canvas. She took pride in sewing beautiful quilts, often from her own designs, for family, The Canadian Red Cross and other charities. Mary was an avid gardener and held an annual flower and plant sale, donating the proceeds to charity. Mary was blessed with a special gift to touch everyone that she met with her kindness, whether it was a family member, friend, stranger in need or an animal that needed a home or nursing back to health. She loved to spend time at her summer camp, walking in the woods, admiring the wild flowers and listening to the songs of the birds. Mary had a special place in her heart for all her nieces and nephews, who will miss her dearly. She will be forever loved and missed by all who knew her. Resting at Kennebecasis Select Community Funeral Home 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (506) 849-2119, with visitation on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 17th, 2007 at 2:00 PM from St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Rothesay. A reception will be held in the Church Hall, following the service. Interment will take place in Brown’s Cemetery, Bains Corner, in the spring. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick. www.kennebecasisfh.com
