Obituary of Leslie David Douglas Kingston
The passing of Leslie David Douglas (Doug) Kingston occurred January 30, 2007 at Dr. V.A. Snow Nursing Home, Hampton. With family by his side his passing was peaceful and with very little discomfort. He was 83 years old. Doug led a long and very productive life. He was a very active member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus, Kennebecasis Branch #58, R.C.L. and the Men of Fundy in Saint John. He also belonged to Carpenters Local 1386 and the New Brunswick Craft Council. In his younger years he was a building inspector for the Village of Gondola Point and was involved with the Boy Scouts of Canada. His talents for carpentry were unsurpassed and could be seen in many homes, businesses and churches. He was known far and wide as the “bird man" for his unique ability for making birds out of a single piece of wood. He was predeceased by his wife Mary (Harrity) Kingston, sister Marie and brother Ronald. Surviving Doug are his children son David (Kathy), Quispamsis, son Danny (Jianrong), Suffield, Alberta, daughter Lorraine, Quispamsis, son Michael (Michelle), Darlings Island, son Harold (Juanita), Quispamsis; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends. Doug will be resting at Kennebecasis Select Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB (849-2119) with visitation Thursday and Friday 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Rothesay on Saturday at 10am. Interment in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery. Reception to follow. In Lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart, Diabetes, and Parkinson’s Foundations would be greatly appreciated by the family. A Legion tribute will be held Thursday, 7pm and a Knights of Columbus prayers will be held Friday, 7:30pm at the funeral home. www.kennebecasisfh.com
