Obituary of Robert John Curran Sr.
The death of Robert John Curran Sr. of Quispamsis, formerly of Fredericton, husband of the late Elizabeth (McConnell) Curran, occurred November 16, 2006 at his residence. He was born in Toronto on September 18, 1931, the son of the late George and Mary (Kearney) Curran. Bob served in the Canadian Armed Forces from 1947 … 1969 retiring as a chief warrant officer in the Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment) of Canada. He served on U.N. peace keeping missions in Korea and Cyprus and held postings in Germany, Borden and Oromocto. He was a member of Kennebecasis Branch 58, Royal Canadian Legion. Bob is survived by one daughter Jean Curran (Dale Cooper), Quispamsis; one son Robert Curran Jr. (Anne), Perth Andover; four grandchildren Loren and Taylor Cooper, Alex and Luke Curran; one sister Rose Hill (Robert), Keswick, ON; several nieces and nephews. Bob’s sense of humour and his love of story-telling will be missed. At the request of the family, no visitation or service will be held. Arrangements are entrusted to Kennebecasis Select Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB (506) 849-2119. For those who wish, donations may be made to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation.
