Obituary of Helen Gertrude Nisbet

The death of "Gert" (Raymond) Nisbet of Quispamsis, NB, wife of the late Jack Nisbet, occurred unexpectedly on Sunday, June 25th, 2006, at her residence. Born in Jaquet River, NB, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Winifred (Agar) Raymond. Gert was a member of St Mark's Church, C.A.C.L., C.W.L., Gert's Card Club and the NB Liberal Association. Gert was blessed with an incredible teaching ability, having taught at Latimore Lake School, Champlain Heights School and finally ending her teaching career at Fairvale Elementary School. She grew up in Loch Lomond and spent much of her life gardening, which she loved dearly. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Anne Nisbet of St. Stephen, NB and Jean Smith (Brian) of Kingston, NB; one son, John (Jean) of Halifax, NS; four sisters, Marg Ryan (Joe) and Betty Anne Ryan, both of Barnesville, Julia McCluskey (Jack) of Loch Lomond, NB and Joan Amirault (Gerry) of Saint John, NB; one brother, Michael Raymond (Elaine) of Harvey, NB; one beloved granddaughter, Emily and three beloved grandsons, Michael, David and Nicholas; many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by caring in-laws, wonderful friends and good neighbours. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by twin daughters, Theresa and Patricia; one son, Michael and one sister, Jean Raymond. Resting at Kennebecasis Select Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB (849-2119) with visitation on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Vigil prayers will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 29th, 2006 from St. Mark's Catholic Church, Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place in St. Bridget's Catholic Cemetery, Chapel Grove. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Little Acre Community Home, St. Stephen, NB.
