Obituary of Peggy Saunders

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Peggy (Margaret) Saunders (nee Whitlock) of Gondola Point on August 12, 2005, at the Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit. Born July 23, 1929, in Naples, Maine, to the late Frederick and Letitia Whitlock. Beloved wife of Robert W. D. (Bob) for 55 years. Peggy resided in Gondola Point from 1949 until her passing after a courageous battle with liver cancer. Cherished mother of Bobby (Angela); Lynn (Brian Chase); Debbie (Bob Higgins); Kim (Wade Beaman) and Jim (Krista), and loving grandmother of Shelly, Amy, Bobby, Emily, Jaymee, Jessica, Sarah and Luke. Dear to her heart were brother, Fred Whitlock (Lorraine), Danbury, Connecticut; sisters, Ferne Adams, Naples, Maine; Doffy Stanzione, Manassas, Virginia, and Carol Whitlock of Ronkonkoma, N. Y.; sisters-in-law, Vera Stephenson, Erma Bergeron, Inez Parsons, Barb Mabey and many loving nieces and nephews. The essence of Peggy was her love and passion for her family on both sides of the border. Peggy had a passion for reading and was an extremely talented artist. Predeceased by brothers, baby Cecil, Lansley, and sisters, Vivian, Rita and Betty. Resting at Kennebecasis Select Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB (849-2119) with visiting hours Sunday only, 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Funeral service to be held on Monday, August 15 at 1:30 PM at St. Luke's Anglican Church, Quispamsis Road, Quispamsis, NB. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to Liver Cancer Research or to the charity of choice would be appreciated. Special thanks to Dr. Lisa Sutherland, Cory Brett, Naturophatic Doctor, Cindy Bergeron, R.N. and all Extra-Mural nurses who attended her with such special care. Special recognition to the Palliative Care Unit and nurses at Saint John Regional Hospital. Peggy will find comfort in the arms of angels and our Lord. We will love and miss her always and forever.
