Graveside Celebration of Life- Later Date
Obituary of Charles R. N. Orchard
It is with heartfelt sorrow that the family of Charles Robert Nelson Orchard announce his passing on Sunday, March 7, 2021. Charles was born on November 20, 1945, in Saint John, New Brunswick and was the son of the late, Donald and Helen (Stableford) Orchard.
During his life, Charlie enjoyed sports, especially skiing which was a love he passed on to his two children. He loved spending time in the outdoors and hitting the ski slopes. This led him to open his own business, Leisure Ski and Sport in Quispamsis. At his business Charlie had the pleasure of watching many local children grow up through his ski exchange programs. To many patrons the store was simply called “Charlie’s”. Charlie had a vibrant spirit and a vivacious sense of humour, which left lasting impressions with all those who knew him. His spirit and presence is going to be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Nancy (Stephenson) Orchard; daughter, Meredith Orchard; son, Neil (Jennifer) Orchard; grandchildren: Owen and Ryan; as well as nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents and three brothers.
Arrangements are under the care of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Rd. Quispamsis (849-2119). By Charles’ request there will be no visitation or service. Cremation has taken place and interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery at a later date. Donations made in memory of Charlie may be given to the charity of the donor’s choice.
