Obituary of Audrey Kathleen Rooney

With sadness the family of Audrey Kathleen Rooney, announce that she passed away on September 27, 2019, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Montreal, QC, on April 27, 1936, she was the daughter of the late, James Edgar and Kathleen (Watts) Rooney.

During her life Audrey loved to study and learn about world religions. She loved spending time reading and was someone who liked to learn as much as she could about many different topics. Audrey worked as a secretary for a law firm in Toronto and also worked in Montreal, before retiring in Rothesay. She once traveled to England and was able to visit many of the places where her roots came from.

Audrey is survived by one step-brother Dennis Rooney of Alberta, cousins, Dale (Don) Evans of Rothesay, Myrna Williams of Rothesay; and her loving caregiver of many years, Cathy Mitton.

Arrangements are under the care of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, (849-2119), in keeping with Audrey's wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. Donations made in memory of Audrey may be made to Hampton Rural Cemetery or the charity of the donor's choice. A private graveside service will be held at a later date in Hampton Rural Cemetery.
