Obituary of John George Walton

With his loving family at his bedside, John George Walton passed away on Monday, June 24, 2019 at Ridgewood Veteran's Wing.

John was born on October 10, 1935 to the late Ivan and Mary (nee McGovern) Walton. He was the loving husband of the late Irene Louise (nee Koval) for 56 years. Some of his greatest pleasures were his grandsons and fishing at Beaver Lake. He was always full of spirit and zest for life and loved to travel.

John will be greatly missed by his sons Barry (Barb) and Michael (Angela); his grandsons: Scott, Brian, Keith, Matthew and Thomas; several nieces, nephews and friends. Jack was predeceased by his parents; brothers Reg and Charles; sisters, Margaret McLeod, Jean McCluskey and Eileen Hopper. John was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to all those involved in John’s healthcare. The family is grateful to the entire staff, volunteers and other families at Ridgewood Veteran’s Wing for their care and compassion they offered John and his family in his final weeks.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119). In keeping with John’s wishes a private immediate family service will be held from Kennebecasis Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made out to Bobby’s Hospice.
