Obituary of Carol Nicols Lyons
The death of Carol Nicols Lyons, beloved husband of Doreen (Matthews) Lyons, occurred at Kings Way Care Centre, Quispamsis on Thursday, June 14, 2018, surrounded by his family.
Born in Miramichi, NB on August 25, 1931, he was a son of the late Walter and Florence (O'Donnell) Lyons. Carol spent his working life as a bus driver for SMT Saint John. After retirement, he and Doreen owned and operated Brookside Convenience. He loved the Lord and that love was reflected in his love for his family and everyone he met. He attended several Pentecostal churches over the years including, Full Gospel Assembly and Renewed Hope. He loved camping, travel, flowers, eating out, especially at The Medi and the Irving Restaurants, but most of all he loved people!
Carol leaves behind his wife of 58 years, Doreen, and his children, Lori Reid (Jeff), Grant Lyons (Heather), and Sandi Fres (Peter), adored by his nine grandchildren; Nicholas, Kristyn, Katie; Brittany, Gillian, Brydon, Oliver; Jessica and Sarah, loved by remaining siblings; Mary Lyons, Mabel Amos, Lois Dore, Darold (Alice), Donald (Joan), and Stephen, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Carol is predeceased by his siblings; Murray Lyons, Rev. Ben Lyons (Eileen), Gertie Lyons (Jim), Greta Price (Pete), Ivy O'Donnel (Cyril), Edith Price (Aaron), brother sin law; Roly Dore, Terry Lyons and Shirley Amos, and best friend, Bobby Stewart.
Special thanks, to the outstanding staff at Kingsway Care Centre, and loving homecare givers, who went over and above with Carol and his family.
