Obituary of Robert Cecil Love
With sadness the family of Robert Cecil Love, of Quispamsis, NB, husband of Edna (Madill) announce his passing on Friday, February 2, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on January 20, 1933, in Saint John, he was a son of the late Cecil and Estella (Graves) Love.
Bob worked all of his career in the lumber industry beginning with Joseph A. Likely and finishing as a senior executive with Dead River Limited. Bob was past president of the Maritime Lumber Bureau, was a founding member of the Quispamsis United Church where he served on the board of stewards and acted as a trustee and served for many years on the district 19 School Board. Bob loved the outdoors especially fishing and hunting and spending time at the camp with his friends and family.
Bob’s greatest joy however was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bob will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 65 years and children: Wayne Love (Cathy) of Rothesay , Lynn Love of Quispamsis, Gary Love (Rosalie) of Quispamsis, Beverly "Bud" Love (Dianne) of Calgary, Brian Love (Joanna) of Toronto, grandchildren Robert (Rae) Love, Emily Love, Alexander Love, Aristides Love, Kenneth McGinnis, Jennifer McGinnis, Christopher McGinnis, Great grandchildren Alice and Aurora, sister Mary Pike of Carmel Maine, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his brothers Henry, Edwin and Norman and his sister Florence Nelson.
Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, (849-2119) with visiting on Tuesday February 6 from 2 - 5 PM. Funeral Service will be held at Quispamsis United Church, 372 Hampton Road, Quispamsis, on Wednesday, February 7 at 11:00 AM. Interment to take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Quispamsis United Church or to a charity of the donor's choice.
