Obituary of Joseph Romain Robichaud
Surrounded by his family, Joseph Romain Robichaud passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 31, 2017. He is survived by his wife Claire (Brennan) Robichaud of Rothesay NB.
Born in Pokemouche NB, on February 24, 1933, he was a son of the late Edouard and Philomene (St. Pierre) Robichaud. Joseph served in the The Royal Canadian Air Force from 1951 until his retirement in 1973. He was a respected expert in the field of nondestructive testing (NDT) and along with his wife Claire, he founded and operated Bretech Inspection. Joseph was an active member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in Rothesay and the Knights of Columbus, Father M.A. Harris Council #6766.
Besides his wife, he is survived by 4 sons; Michael (Maureen) of Hampton, Richard (Anne Marie) of Grimsby ON, Brian (Colleen) of Saint John and Mark (Nicole) of Squamish BC, 2 sisters; Leah (Tieke) Robichaud of Kingston ON, and Sister Antoinette Robichaud of Campbellton, 6 grandchildren; Meghan, Sam, Andrew, Leah, Sierra and Winter, many cherished nieces and nephews, and extended family.
Besides his parents, Joseph is predeceased by his brothers; Ivan (Yvonne), Isadore (Birtie), Louis (Ida), Lucien (Therese), Gerard, sisters; Marie and Sister Celina Robichaud, and sister in law Colleen Marsh.
Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (506-849-2119) with visiting on Thursday, November 9, 2017 from 2–4pm and 6-8 PM. The Knights of Columbus will conduct a prayer service at 7:30 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 31 Gondola Point Road, Rothesay, on Friday, November 10, 2017 at 11AM. Interment will take place at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Indian River, PE, at a later date. A special thank you to Dr. Brian O’Neill (Sussex NB) and the lung transplant team at Toronto General Hospital.
