Obituary of Nora Jane Bowes
It is with heartfelt sorrow, the family of Nora Jane Bowes, wife of the late James Bowes, announce her passing on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
Born in Saint John on August 17, 1953, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Agnes (Ryan) Parlee. Nora worked for many churches over her career. She was employed with St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, and St. Paul’s Anglican Church as their administrator. Nora also was employed with Saint John Arts Centre, until her retirement. She enjoyed cross stitching, playing cards, watching crime shows, and was an avid reader and Amazon purchaser. Nora was a caring and giving woman, she would offer a helping hand to anyone in need. Nothing brought more joy to Nora than her family. She enjoyed every moment with them making everlasting memories.
Nora is survived by her loving son Tom of Quispamsis, as well as numerous loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and extended family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Nora was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Besides her husband and parents, Nora was predeceased by her many siblings.
The family wish to thank the Staff and Nurses of 4AN, for their compassion and care towards Nora. Their kindness will not be forgotten.
Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (506-849-2119) with visiting on Saturday, June 28, 2028 from 11-1 PM, with a celebration of Nora’s life following at 1PM. Interment to take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Nora can be made to the KV Food Basket.
