Obituary of David Gerald Campbell
It is with great sorrow, the family of David Gerald Campbell, of Saint John, announce his passing on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
Born on October 14, 1948, in Saint John, NB, he was a son of the late Charles and Gertrude (McGaghey) Campbell. Always a ‘wheelman’, he was employed with Shaw Brick in his younger years as a driver. Dave, as he was known to his friends and family, drove delivery truck and worked as a route foreman for Baxter Dairies for over 35 years. He helped coach the Baxter's Hockey Team for a few years and he loved the camaraderie with the fellas. Dave was a hard working and reliable man that you could always count on. If he was asked for help, regardless of what it was, he would be there to lend a hand.
Dave loved stock car racing and regularly attended local races with his sons. He was a huge NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt Sr fan! He was a lifelong Toronto Maple Leafs fan and passed this on to his oldest son Ernie, for better or worse. Dave was a faithful member of Full Gospel Assembly and he loved the sense of community provided by his church family. Dave is survived by his sons; Shawn (Denise), Ernie (Sherri), grandson Tyler, fiancé Jackie Day, brothers Darrell (Vicki), and Harold, sisters; Beth Prentice (Mike), and Belinda Court (Bill), former wife Ruth (Boyne) Campbell, as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Besides his parents, David is predeceased by his brother Charles Campbell Jr.
Arrangements are under the care of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB (506-849-2119). Visitation will take place on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Full Gospel Assembly, 34 Mount Pleasant Ave. Saint John, from 10:00 - 11:00 AM, with a service following at 11:00 AM. Reception for family and friends to follow the service. For those who wish, donations in memory of Dave can be made to Full Gospel Assembly Church or the
