A wonderful person. I can recall with great clarity, Dr King stitching my up in the dressing room of KV Area after getting hit by a puck during warm up. Told me good to go, just get back out there.

Carol, Jamie, Angus and Rita, Jean and Stephen. Learned of Doc’s passing while we were away on vacation. Truly the end of an era. One that we are so happy to have been a part of. The family friendship we had with all of you is not one everyone gets to have anymore. Our own children moved so much in their youth they did not have the same opportunity to have this. They attended LRU a couple of times when they were very young but of course don’t have the same memories we did. Having said that though, Aunt Hattie has been passed down through them to now our grandchildren. What a lovely obit. I enjoyed it so much and it brought back so many memories, Our deepest sympathies to you. What wonderful traditions we shared. Onward Christian Soldiers!

Dr. King gave me my first job, an opportunity which led to a 40-year career at the Regional Hospital. I have many beautiful memories of working at Rothesay Medical. He looked after us as a physician for many many years and now will look after us from above.

Our heartfelt sympathy to Carol,Jamie, Angus(Reta), Jean(Stephen), and grandchildren! We are so grateful for the many, many fond memories of our days at the Rothesay Medical Center. Barry was the consummate gentleman and doctor. He loved his profession and was extremely kind and patient. I am so grateful to have been able to visit him at Embassy and bring him a smile when I gave him a blessing. He was so appreciative. Barry and Ann’s spirits are now reconnected. They were truly a blessing to one another and our community. God bless you as you mourn and grieve. Donna and Eckart

I think of Dr. King and his wife every year, on my birthday, because I was the baby delivered on the sidewalk in front of their home.

My condolences to Dr Barry King’s family. I met Barry and Ann through my aunt and uncle Jack and Theresa Stevens but got to know Dr King when I returned to NB after finishing my medical training and did a locum for Dr David Blagrave. Dr King was a hard working, physician who did cradle to grave medicine and was well respected in the medical community. I loved talking medicine with him and listening to stories of things he experienced in the early days of his career. He and Ann will be greatly missed.

To the King family, my sincere condolences to all of you. Your father was an amazing physician, I recall his home visit in the sixties when I was suffering from the measles. Dr. King’s ability to reassure my parents that all would be well was a great relief. Such a wonderful tribute to an amazing family doctor!

I was an early (and young) patient of Dr King after his office on the Common opened. He was quite patient with me too, he explained calmly that my imagined infection was not life-threatening. After moving to Nfld, I still saw him thru the years when my family visited Rothesay. He was a good doctor and a good man. RIP Barry.

Sorry to hear of your father's passing, Dr. King, to me and always will be. Went to visit your father on Monday and was informed of his death. I have been visiting your father lately since I came to live at Jubilee Hall. I worked with him and the other doctors for over 10 years. I fondly remember those years. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. God Bless, Marilyn .
