Obituary of Daryl James Buchan

It is with heartfelt sorrow, the family of Daryl “Buck” James  Buchan, husband of Cheryl Dawn (Olive) Buchan of Rothesay, NB, announce his death on Thursday, March 20, 2025.

Born on May 2, 1942, in Windsor, NS, he was the son of the late Francis and Ella Mae (Brewster) Buchan. Buck was employed at Irving Oil Refinery for 29 years until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family and friends. Known as “Mr. Fix-It”, in their neighbourhood, he would always lend a helping hand in any task that came across his path. Buck enjoyed providing local schools and service clubs with an experience of Maple Sugar, a trait not anyone can master.

Besides his loving wife, Buck is survived by his beloved children, James, Jeffrey,  and Angela (Adam Teakles), as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB, (506-849-2119) with visiting on Friday, March 28, 2025, from 11-2 PM. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2PM at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to take place at a later date. For those who wish, donations in memory of Buck can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
