Obituary of Elsie Muriel Baird
It is with heartfelt sorrow, the family of Elsie Muriel Baird, wife of the late Leonard Baird, announce her passing on Monday, March 17, 2025, at the Dr. V.A. Snow Centre.
Born on October 3, 1937, in Saint-Hubert, Quebec, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Alice (Rathmill) Wright. Elsie was a loving mother and enjoyed spending time with her children watching them grow. Nothing gave her greater joy than when her grandchildren were born. Elsie could be found many mornings having breakfast with her many friends at McDonald’s and lunches at the Big Stop Irving.
Elsie is survived by her daughters; Karen Cummings (Donald McIntosh) of Fredericton, and Sanda McNulty (Tom) of Rothesay, sons; Dan (Jackie) of Panama, Brian (Tanya) of Saint John, grandchildren; Jessica McCluskey (Andrew Tait), Courtney McCluskey (Tyler Portier), Nick Cummings, and Matthew Cummings, great grandson Oliver Tait, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Besides her husband, Elsie is predeceased by her sisters; Lillian and Rose Wright.
In keeping with Elsie’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A celebration of life will be held at Kennebecasis Funeral Home Chapel, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (506-849-2119), on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at 1PM. Interment will take place at Fernhill Cemetery at a later date. Those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed and can be viewed by clicking on the provided link. Donations in memory of Elsie can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
