Arran McEvoy

Obituary of Arran Charles Maston McEvoy

It is with broken hearts the family of Arran Charles Maston McEvoy, announce his passing on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on July 11, 2001, in Saint John, he was the son of Charles and Linda (Maston) McEvoy. Arran was an avid soccer player from Timbits all the way through high school, even winning a Provincial championship in Grade 11. An accomplished athlete, he also played baseball, basketball, and volleyball. He and his family went on many trips, with one of his favorite destinations being Fort Wilderness at Walt Disney World, where Arran would be happiest watching the sunsets over the water and walking the trails. He had a love of reading, writing in his journals, and listening to a wide range of music. Arran was a conservationist at heart. He loved nature and taking care of the environment. He had a passion for walking in the woods, taking the road less travelled and discovering new places. As a child, he had a special knack for Geocaching and could find caches with ease, much to the surprise of family and friends. As his

Great Grandfather Munn once described him, Arran was an ‘old soul’ born out of his time. Arran was a compassionate, caring, kind, and gentle person, who was always willing to listen to anyone.

Besides his parents, Arran is survived by his sisters; Emma, and Hannah McEvoy, both of Rothesay, and his beloved dog AJ with whom he shared a birthday. He will also be lovingly remembered by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Arran was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Charles and Mary McEvoy, his maternal grandparents, Eldon and Anne Maston, his Uncle Jack Connell, and his cousin Kevin Connell.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital, for their compassion and care of Arran. The family also wishes to thank the organ donation team for making a challenging process hopeful and uplifting. Thanks to you, Arran has been able to leave a lasting legacy by giving the gift of life to others. Arran always wanted to change the world, and he was able to do this by being an organ donor. Your kindness will never be forgotten.

Arrangements are under the care of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (506-849-2119). A private celebration of life in memory of Arran will take place at a later date.
