Dear Bert, Eric, Mike and Alice,
I am so sorry for your loss and I am thinking of you all during this difficult time. Bert and Russ were my neighbors for many years and were good friends with my parents.
I was fortunate to be able to live with Bert and Russ when they opened up their home to me when my father was transferred away for work. I will always be grateful for all they did for me.
While living with them, I remember Russ taking Bert and I into town, so I could pick out a dress to wear to a semi formal. Russ was always ready and willing to help with whatever he could. He would go and watch Mark’s hockey games, and many years later we would often run into Russ at TD Station watching hockey. I know how much he loved to watch hockey. When I graduated High School Bert and Russ came to my Prom, and Russ took so many great photos of my friends and I. He was really great at getting the best photos. Russ was a kind and generous soul, and I am lucky that I had the opportunity to know him. He will be deeply missed.
You are all in my thoughts and prayers,
Allison Kelley and Mark Scott

I worked with Russ at Saint John Shipbuilding. As a young engineer, Russ was a great wealth of knowledge and help. A kinder, more patient mentor I could not have asked for.

I was sorry to hear that Russ had died. We worked together at the shipyard, especially through all the tough times
of getting that first ship completed, tested and delivered. No matter how difficult it got, I never remember one complaint from Russ- he just got his head down and got on with it.
My condolences to the family.
