Obituary of Trudi Lynn Rickard
Trudi Lynn Rickard RN BN CCN CNN(C) passed away peacefully on February 27, 2025, surrounded by loving family and friends at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
She was born in Saint John, New Brunswick on October 31, 1965. Trudi was predeceased by her father Hazen Rickard. She is survived by her mother Sandra (nee Warren), her sister Kelli, and her brother-in-law Kevin MacDonald.
Trudi grew up in the Rothesay area. With her curious nature, scientific mind and caring heart, she dreamed of being a nurse since childhood. Her accomplished nursing career of more than three decades included work in the Neuroscience Department, NICU, TIA clinic and clinical research. Her vocation allowed her to help many patients plus became a source of cherished friendships and life-long learning.
A devoted daughter, sister and friend, Trudi will always be remembered for her kindness, intelligence, effervescent giggle – and those curls! As a lover of nature and animals, she was also a doting cat mom who was happiest at her little lakeside haven, or swimming and camping with dear friends.
Cremation has taken place. In keeping with her wishes, Trudi’s family will hold a private ceremony. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation. Arrangements under the care of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (506-849-2119).
Thank you to Dr. Chris O’Brien, the entire 3BN team, Trudi’s SJRH family and all who provided love, care and support to her and our family.
