Dear Lori, Mark, Patti and Heather. My deepest sympathies to you all on the passing of your father. He was a trailblazer and visionary and did so much in his lifetime to point people to Jesus in greater Saint John and around the world. He helped build a vibrant church, Christian school and education and missions around the world. He invested time and resources in the lives of young and old. It will be heard, “well done thou good and faithful servant”. Hope to hear more of a celebration of his life service soon. Sincerely / Mark

To Heather, Patti, Lori, Mark and families: We have many fond memories of your Dad as he pastored in Forest Hills Baptist. It was a joy working with him especially among the youth. Carpenter's Friends was a very special time and an opportunity to meet many teens. I believe Freedom Singers started during his time at FHB as did Christian Service Brigade & Pioneer Girls all of which we were involved. May God give you peace and comfort during this time knowing your Dad served the Lord and is now in His presence. John & Lois Coffey.

To Heather, Patricia, Lori and Mark, children of Rev. Harold Braun and Carol:
I wish to express my condolences to the family upon being aware of the passing of Pastor Harold Braun. I recall our family moved to Fairvale in 1969 and began attending the Rothesay Baptist Church, and at that time the current church minister had accepted a call from a church in Nova Scotia, and soon afterward (1971) the Rothesay Baptist congregation called the Rev. Harold Braun who accepted as the new Pastor. The growth of the five cluster of small villages in the Kennebecasis Valley area was increasing the population year after year. At that time it was evident that Pastor Braun, being a gifted evangelist, felt a vision of God's calling the church to reach out within the wide community with the gospel. During the following next 15 years the church purchased land, built a large new church sanctuary building, a Christian school and a gymnasium while hundreds of individuals and families heard the gospel and was shared the scripture teachings. I am one of many many others who will remember Pastor Braun as a passionate preacher who left a legacy of the good news from the Gospel.
May each of you, as the family, have peace and comfort since the passing of your parents, knowing that Pastor Harold and Carol Braun have gained the promise of eternal life in their Heavenly Home. 2nd Timothy 4: 7- 8
May the Lord bless and keep you,
Innis McCready

Pastor Braun was such an integral part of my life! He baptized me at 8 and was someone I truly looked up to and admired throughout my lifetime! He was a trailblazer in the 70's - God gave him a creative and visionary mind so he was able to accomplish many things to reach a lost world. Carpenter's Friends, Rothesay Baptist Christian School, Church bus ministry, spectacular visiting musical groups, missionary conferences - there was an incredible time of spiritual growth and building that took place in this region of NB because of
Pastor Braun. In addition to this, he expanded our understanding of global missions, by partnering with other evangelicals and their projects around the world. He loved people and had a heart for the world to know Jesus! What a Savior we follow, who gave us, in this little region of the world, a Godly man like Pastor Braun - who could accomplish so much in his lifetime!

Extending sincere condolences to Pastor Harold’s family and savouring memories of the years (1970-1973) he was MY pastor at Forest Hills. To his obituary’s excellent summary of his life’s labours for Christ, I’d like to add that he had a sense of humour and illustrate with an anecdote:
At Forest Hills in the early 70s, we had two services every Sunday, both well attended. There was a young man in our church who worked long hard hours but never missed a service. One Sunday evening, as was often the case, he was struggling to stay awake. Unfortunately, he was seated at the end of his pew, next to the centre aisle. And, as he gradually succumbed to the “sandman,” he began to lean outwards into the aisle, his head eventually assuming a horizontal position. The other members of the congregation watched with great amusement, some beginning to laugh audibly. Poor Pastor Harold preached on intrepidly until he finally realized he’d lost the people’s attention. Pausing his sermon abruptly and with a grin on his face, he pointed directly at our slumbering congregant and said in a commanding tone, “Wake him up!” (Which his mortified wife did.)

We send our deepest condolences to Heather, Patti, Lori and Mark and your families!
I , Carolyn still remember the day Pastor Braun came to my home and invited me to go to that little white church on the Vincent Road. I said asked do you have a nursery and he said yes,I’d be there Sunday and was and had been saved before but away from the Lord! Then Dale came to church too! He too had been saved and away from the Lord .Pastor Braun taught us so much about going to homes and sharing the Gospel and seeing
people come to trust Jesus as their Saviour! Wow! Then he had foreign missionaries come and opened our hearts to missions and supporting them! He was a great teacher, preacher, evangelist ,a builder, a visionary and lover of people and got the Christian school started! He sure loved the Lord and Carol and his children! When we all get to Heaven what a day that will be!!! Praying for you!

We were saddened to read the obituary for Pastor Braun. We recall his life of service to our Lord Jesus Christ. We are grateful that Harold heard and obeyed the call of the Lord Jesus, who says, "Follow Me". Matthew 4:19 We are grateful for Harold's desire to reach people, locally and globally, with the Good News of the Lord Jesus Christ. We are grateful for the faith and vision the Lord gave Harold that, "With God all things are possible." Matthew 19:26 Most of all, we are grateful for the words of the Lord Jesus, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me though he die, yet shall he live. " John 11:25 We are remembering you in prayer.

Growing up under the ministry of Pastor Braun was one of the greatest blessings of my life. He constantly challenged us to be in the Word of God and “Let God be true and every man a liar.”
Even in ON, he and Mrs Braun continued to speak into my life as they allowed me to work with their youth group. Pastor Braun has left a legacy of young people (some of us no longer so young) who became dedicated followers of Christ because of his teaching and influence.
I am sure there was an exceptionally heartfelt “Well done, good and faithful servant!” when he arrived home.
My condolences to the family. Praying for you all.

Arnold & I as well as our family extend heartfelt condolences to Harold’s family. I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Saviour under Pastor Braun’s ministry and after my baptism I will always remember him telling the congregation he was going to put my name in the membership book in pencil. He had an inkling he would soon officiate at our wedding. He will always be my first pastor and I am grateful for his teaching helping Arnold and I grow in knowledge and service to our Lord.
A life well lived, a race well run!
