Obituary of Allan Levine
It is with heartfelt sorrow, the family of Allan J. Levine, announced his passing on Tuesday February 4th, 2025 at Rocmaura Nursing Home.
Allan was welcomed into heaven by his best friend Gary Wilson with a phone in hand.
Born on Sept 4th, 1948, in Saint John, NB. He was the son of late Abraham and Mary Levine. In his younger years, Allen was a member and was involved eith Shaarei Zedek Synagogue in Saint John.
Allan worked at Irving paper for years while becoming the president of Local 601, the paperworkers union, he also became heavily involved with the consulting and creations of CUPE contracts.
One of his highlights in life was when he was hand picked to attend the a governor general ceremony alongside Prince Philip in Australia in the 90's.
In the early 90's Allan decided he wanted a more challenging career and attended Queens University for 4 years before returning to Hampton, NB a graduate of Law with Honour's. He practiced Criminal Law the remainder of his working life while becoming a Lion in Both the Hampton Lions club and Islanview Lions club, where he became the president for a few years.
He was also a volunteer at the Saint John Regional Hospital Cardiac surgery unit visiting open heart surgery patients and offering comfort and advice.
Allan is survived by his wife Patricia of Hampton, Daughter Sarah Levine of Saint John, Son Allan Lingley (Tonya) of Miramichi, Brad Duncan (Erin) of Hampton, Sister Debbie MacDonald (Ron) of Ontario. Grandchildren, Myles, Mia, Mitchell, Morgan, Payton, Harlie, Nikolas, Gibson, Arlo, Ashley, Colin, former spouse Barbara Lenihan, Sister in law Suzanne Bodaly, Brenda Fallon, and several nieces and and nephews. Cousins Elise, Joel (Kerri), Aaron and many other extended family members with the Levine name. Close friends Bob Davidson, Jim West (Margaret) and his Beloved German Shepherd Kelsie and cat Tigger.
Besides his father he was pre deceased by his aunt Ida and Uncles Eddie, Max and Myer.
Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (506-849-2119). Funeral Service will be held at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home Chapel, on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at 11AM. Interment to take place at Shaarei Zedek Cemetery, Westmorland Road, Saint John. For those who wish, donations in memory of Allan can be made to the Kennebecasis Lions Club. For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed by clicking on the provided link.
