Graham & Donna Macdougall posted a condolence
It is with great sadness we learned of Don's passing . We are grateful to have spent an evening with him recently..he was as always..a really fun guy to be with. My memories of our business career together are exactly as expressed..he was what all business associates should be.fair but exacting. He will be missed by all. Donna and I will be out of town for the celebration but will take a moment on the day to remember a good friend.

Dear Andrea & Family: i am so sorry for your loss and please now that we are thinking of you. It ways my great pleasure to know Don, in fact, Don was instrumental in my joining RBC Dominion Securities in 1997. I certainly admired Don's no nonsense style and his "sardonic" wit and both will be truly missed. I have a distinct memory of Don chasing and berating a crow down the fairway at St. Andrew's NB as the thief successfully absconded with Don's lunch. You could always count on Don for a good laugh so we'll laung out loud as we remember Don and all of those good memories. Unfortunately, I will not be able to join you on Saturday, fete him well!-Lew

Don was one of those "characters" you meet in life that can get away with speaking his mind and still keeping his friends! His sincerity coupled with his sense of humor was admirable. To his family and friends I'm sorry for your loss. All the best, Graham Burns

I was sorry to hear about Don's passing. I knew Don when we worked to-gether as directors at Richardson Greenshields and continued our friendship at RBC DS. I respected his opinions and his wit. I was glad I had a chance to see him last year when a group of old friends had a dinner in Halifax with him. Our prayers and thoughts are with you at this time.

Dawn, I am truly sorry to hear of your father's passing. I had the pleasure of working for your father and he was a strong positive influence in the early days of my career. Don was a demanding superior who expected no less than what he was prepared and capable of doing. Don's personality and strong voice gave him a larger than life persona, but in reality he was a caring and lovable good person with a great sense of humour. Pierre Leduc

Like so many others, I was very saddened to hear of Don's passing. My thoughts go back almost a quarter century ago, to when I met Don for the first time. He was my new manager at the firm of Richardson Greenshields.Yes, Don could be gruff at times, but you soon learned that he always had your back and stood solidly behind you in your endeavours.I credit Don with motivating me to be all that I could be as an advisor.Yes, he will be missed but I have 25 years of memories to reflect on for the years to come. God's blessings to Don and his family at this time.

I met Don at Christmas, 2007, when I took took over duties as Don and Andrea's dog sitter, looking after their wonderful dogs Brando and Bandit while Don and Andrea took vacations with family in Florida. In the years since then I became friends with them both and the dogs and the family, staying in their wonderful home when they visited Florida many times. Don always made me feel like one of the family and it was a pleasure to know him and we had many interesting conversations. He was an inspiration to me when he continued to go into the office every day long after most people had retired. I remember his ready smile, his laugh and his sense of humour. And his love of his dogs. My sympathies to Andrea, Reid, Dawn and the rest of the family. Don was a good man.
