Obituary of D. Alyson Hamilton
The death of Alyson Hamilton, wife of the late Charles Hamilton, and cherished mother of Leslie Hamilton-Brown (Dana Brown), of Quispamsis, occurred peacefully surrounded by family and friends, on Wednesday May 25, 2016. Born in Montreal, Quebec on April 29, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Vera (Hall) Eckstein.
Alyson is survived not only by her daughter Leslie (Dana) but her much adored grandchildren: Joshua Brown, Spencer Brown, and Meredith Saulnier (Anthony), and a special ‘great-grandson’ Josh Etok. Alyson is also survived by her loving brother, Robert Eckstein (the late Shirley), of Fredericton, and her very special nieces and nephew, Janet Waugh (Peter), Bob Eckstein (Debbie), Judy Dykeman (Shawn), Jill Johnston (Edward), and Jennifer Brewer (Mark), and many grand nieces and nephews.
Alyson thoroughly enjoyed her position as a Goodwill Senior Ambassador for the Province of New Brunswick. She also took great pride in welcoming cruise ship visitors to Saint John. Alyson was a main-stay at many elections and shared her charm and flare as an avid bridge player and was a very gifted gardener. But most of all, Alyson loved being with her family and she will be passionately missed and continually remembered.
Resting at the Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119) with visiting on Sunday from 3-7 pm. Funeral Service will take place at St David’s United Church, Gondola Point Road, Rothesay on Monday, May 30, 2016 at 2:00 pm.
