Obituary of Chad Alexander Tissington

It is with broken hearts, the family of Chad Alexander Tissington, announce his passing which occurred unexpectedly on Sunday, December 6, 2020, in Calgary AB.

Born in Moncton, NB, on June 10, 1991, the son of Darren (Dawn Maillet) Tissington and Elaine (Robert) Richardson.  Chad graduated  from Kennebecasis Valley High School in 2009. Chad was well loved by many, he had a kind heart and always willing to help a friend in need. He had an ear for music and enjoyed listening to old country and bluegrass songs from days gone by. Chad lived his life to the fullest and on his terms, Chad will be remembered for his big personality and his presence, that made all those who knew him feel loved.

Chad was an extraordinarily generous, selfless and compassionate person, who would go out of his way to be there for others. He had a knack for seeking out those who were struggling in life, offering his ear and then imparting his sage advice and wisdom. He was the glue that brought everyone together, and it was so important to him to stay connected with all of his loved ones. He grew up listening to his grandfather Paul sing and play guitar, and that ignited a passion for music that he carried through his life. He was often found late at night with a drink in hand, watching live performances of his favourite artists on youtube, while carrying on multiple in depth conversations with the people he cared about. He would often share songs with his many friends and family when he found lyrics that were moving or reminded him of them.

Chad always valued the things that really matter in life and made sure his friends and family knew how important they were to him. His loyalty and protectiveness towards them was truly unmatched.
He was a creative thinker and jack of all trades who excelled at everything he did, whether it be work or play. When a problem arose, out came his redneck ingenuity, and he would thoughtfully comment, "I could probably rig something up." He and Riley shared a sense of wanderlust, and they loved to explore their surroundings, whether a 10 minute or 10 hour drive away. He was especially drawn to the coast, and they were lucky enough to spend two years living on and exploring Vancouver Island. His story-telling was legendary, always lighthearted and foolish, and guaranteed to make you laugh out loud. His energy, humour and wit would light up any room, and he was always the life of the party. He touched more lives in 29 years than most would in 100, and he will be desperately missed by so many.

Besides his parents, Chad is survived by his loving partner Riley Hanson, brother Ryan (Brianna) Tissington, sisters;  Breanne (Nic) Tissington, and Chanelle Tissington, step brother; Justin Maillet; step sisters Myra and Hannah Maillet; paternal grandmother Judy Tissington; maternal grandmother, Betty Harris; aunts; Nancy Tissington and Heather Brittain; uncles; as well as nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Chad was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Bernie Tissington and maternal grandfather, Paul Harris.
