Obituary of Dr. Thomas Lee McCue

It is with heartfelt sorrow, the family announce the death of Dr. Thomas Lee McCue, of Rothesay, husband of Donna (McGaghey) McCue, occurred on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Saint John.

Born in Summerside, Prince Edward Island on March 21, 1953, he was a son of the late Louis Don and Yvette (Legace) McCue. Tom was a well known Optometrist in the Rothesay Area for several years until his retirement. Tom enjoyed playing golf, fishing, hunting and his time spent at “The Lake”.  He enjoyed playing hockey and became an avid Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays fan.

Besides his loving wife, Tom is survived by his children; Brendan (Katie Brewer) of Quispamsis, Lori Kennedy (Dr. Andrew Kennedy) of Perth-Andover, NB,  and Matthew (Natasha) of Calgary, AB, brothers; Donald  ( Cheryl), and John ( Dianne), sisters; Helen LeBlanc, Judy McAloon (Greg), and Shirley McKinnon (David), grandchildren; Zearan, Kai, and Tristan Kennedy, long time friend Grant McQueen, as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Besides his parents, Tom was predeceased by his sister Susan Sisson, and brother in law Gerald LeBlanc.

The family wishes to thank the Doctors and the staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital, for the wonderful care towards Tom and his family.

Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119) with visiting on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Funeral home staff will be available at the entrance to assist with Covid-19 protocol. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 31 Gondola Point Road, Rothesay on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at  11:00 AM. Tom's Mass will be livestreamed for those who will be unable to attend.  Interment to take place at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
