Visitation
Obituary of Karen Marie Shephard
With unfathomable sadness her children announce the passing of Karen Shephard (nee Oldfield) on October 31, 2020.
Born in Saint John, on July 21, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Carol Oldfield (Merritt).
Karen started her career in the traffic department at CHSJ and later worked at Provinco Insurance but her passion was being a stay at home mom to bring up her children. She was known for her cooking skills and loved to host parties- when you went to one of her parties, you knew you were going to eat well!
Her love for her grandchildren was unwavering and she loved them to the moon and back. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Richard Shephard.
She will be missed by her two loving children, Kevin (Melissa) and Kelley (Randy); her grandchildren: Jonah, Reilly, Josh, Sydney and Camryn; brother, Dougie (Terry); sisters, Dawn and Sherrie (Lance); many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her best friend of 52 years, Levern (David) Cochrane and goddaughter, Shelby Stevenson.
Special thanks to Dr. Bone, Dr. Thompson, Dr. Grey, Extra Mural and the wonderful staff and nurses at Bobby’s Hospice.
Arrangements are under the care of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Rd, Quispamsis (849-2119). Visitation will take place on Friday, November 6, 2020, from 3:00 – 8:00 PM.
