Obituary of Ernestine Doreen Britten
In appreciation of a life well lived, the family is very saddened to announce the passing of Ernestine D. Britten (Ellis) wife of the late Frank W. Britten at the Saint John Regional Hospital on May 20, 2020 in her 95th year.
Born August 30, 1925, in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Robert R. Ellis and Esther Ellis (May). Ernestine grew up in Saint John East on Green St., attended Saint John Vocational School. Later she married, moved to Rothesay where she raised a family. She was Anglican by faith. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, music and always had a time for tea and a chat. She and her husband Frank enjoyed dancing and they enjoyed many years at their cottage on the Washademoak Lake. She took great pride in her family and loved them all.
Survived by daughters; Sharon Magarity (Paul), Laurine Bushey, Carol Budd (Wayne Thompson), sons; Carl (Anita) and Ian (Lisa), grandchildren; Jodi Meinert (Celine), Colleen Poirier (Jean Marc), Carrie Hughson (Dave), Opalee Budd (John), Trevor Megarity (Mandy), Cole Britten and Isaac Britten, six great grandsons; Benjamin, Luke, Asher, Liam, Marcus, Everett, brother in law Ellis Britten (Anne), nephew David Ellis (Lorna), niece Marlean Whittaker (Bill) and other nieces and nephews.
Ernestine was predeceased by her husband Frank, sons in law; Peter Bushey, and Bill Budd, brother in law Don Britten (Jean).

Arrangements are under the care of Kennebecasis Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119). A private family Graveside Service will take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Hestia House, KV Food Basket or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
