Obituary of Paul Joseph Edson
The world lost a great dad, husband, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend with the passing of Paul Joseph Edson on May 14, 2020. Born in Cornhill, NB on January 11, 1945, Paul loved nature and was someone who had a deeper understanding of the woods and the wonders within it. He was an avid reader; he could usually be found in front of a fire, listening to records, engrossed in newspapers, magazines, history books and novels.
Paul was the beloved Grampy to Hadley, Emma, Harper, and Maya, spending hours playing and watching cartoons and movies with them. A grandson, Logan, will soon be welcomed into the family, and he will hear many stories of Grampy. His children Jill Edson (Brad), Jerrod (Leigh), and Joel (Karina) will remember him as a fun, gentle, and loving father who was always there for them. Always by his side, right up to the end, was his devoted wife Alice; the two celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last summer. It was within those 50 years where they raised their family, laughed, loved, went camping, fishing, frequented minor hockey rinks all over the Maritimes, and made memories that will last forever. Paul is survived by siblings Art (Kathy), Barb (Brian), Debbie (Carl), and Mary Ellen.
The family wishes to extend its appreciation to the compassionate staff at Bobby’s Hospice.
Arrangements are under the care of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, (849-2119).
