Thinking of the Edson’s during this difficult time and hope you accept my sincere condolences.
So many happy memories from the many hours spent at the Edson house! The thing I remember most fondly about Paul was how he treated us when we were teenagers. We were most likely doing things that we should not have been doing and Paul always treated us with respect and a caring fatherly line of questioning when checking in on us. I remember Paul was always genuinely interested in how we were doing and if we were taking good enough care of ourselves.
I remember vividly how proud he was of his kids and whenever we had the chance to chat it was abundantly evident how delighted he was to share stuff about his grand kids.
For me, Paul was one of those extra special dads who took a deeper interest in his childrens friends and for that I will always be appreciative. We all knew that Paul was always there in the background keeping a close eye on us to ensure we did not push things so far. I also know Paul loved to be at rink and watch us play and we were lucky to have him as one of our many hockey dad’s.
Again, please accept my sincere condolences.

Paul was like a second father to me. He was the type of guy that would give you the shirt off his back. He was selfless, always looking out for everyone else and making sure they were alright. He was a voracious reader and very well informed on most every subject. I will miss our talks. Every time we chatted; I would learn something new. Paul, I will never forget your kindness, contagious smile and your laughter.

I'm at a loss for words. I lost my hero.
I was born on a Good Friday and my Dad bought me an Easter lily when my mom and him brought me home from the hospital. Every year at Easter, up until he got sick, he made sure to get me my lily, no matter the distance between us. It was a symbol of his undying love. I now have a tattoo on the inside of my left forearm of my Easter lily, to remind me of the incredible father that he was and the special bond that we shared. He was kind, loyal, devoted, gentle... the best father anybody could ask for.
I miss him. I love you, Dad, forever. xo

I have a lot of memories of Paul, and in fact the whole family, as we grew up with them on Creek Road, went to Grades 1 thru 8 at that school. We moved to Havelock and the Edsons moved to Corn Hill along with my Grandparents Melvin. We kind of lost touch over the years but connected now and again either in Corn Hill, or when Enid lived in Susses. A story I want to relate is my sister Patsy and I were home visiting from Toronto and we took a drive up through Creek Road, as we always did. Pat drove into a logging road wondering where it went and a truck came out towards us. When we stopped, I got out although Pat throught it might be a killer or robber, and as I walked towards the truck and saw the Dimple I knew who it was. Pat was too young to remember the Edsons on Creek Road but I did, because I got thrown off one of their horses or ponies at the farm. So many memories. My brother Paul and Paul used to run the roads between Saint John and Corn Hill every weekend for many years. My brother was very saddened to hear of Paul's death but his memories will be talked about until we die. Our sincere condolences go out to the whole Edson family.

My dad was one of those rare people who was liked by everyone, and I am so lucky to have had him as my dad. I have so many good memories of him and I am sure others do too. A friend of mine told me today to listen to everyone, because they knew him differently than I did. If you have a funny or interesting story, or anything at all about him, and would like to share it, I would love to hear it. I can be reached at jerrodedson99@gmail.com

Sorry for your loss Joel, Jared, Jill and Mrs. Edson. I was only a few feet from Islay drive tonight before I found out. I could actually see our old houses from Charles crescent and was thinking about those days. My memory is foggy but I remember someone had a water bed and Joel hosted me for my first sleepover. Not sure I made it through the night but I am glad to have this memory of living next to such a cool family in the mid and late eighties.
