Kathy Gallagher

Obituary of Kathy Gallagher

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Kathy Gallagher of Campbellton, NB on April 10, 2020. Rest assured that she passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loved ones who will miss her deeply. There will always be a hole in each of our hearts that can never be filled. She is predeceased by her parents, Fred Condron and Jeanne Condron (Roy) and her younger brother Charles Condron.

Survived by her children; Jennifer McConaghy (Drew), Chuck Gallagher (Felicia), close friend and father of her children Don Gallagher, her little chum Brigette Jackson and her siblings: Margaret Bourque (Roger), Raymond Condron (Fern), Connie Langlois, Millie Poirier (Best Friend), Bernie Condron (Gloria), Fred Condron (Gisele) and in-laws Joanne Gibson, Brenda Doucette (Roger), Mary Osmond, Connie Gallagher and many much loved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews, Gerry and Penny McConaghy and many beloved friends. All these relationships have had a significant impact on her life and brought her so much joy and love.

Mom truly had a zest for life and loved travel, adventure, movies, television, reading, praying and most importantly her bingo where she was blessed to make many close friendships which she cherished.

As you all likely know mom was diagnosed over three years ago with pancreatic cancer. However, she looked at her diagnosis as a challenge and loved defying all the odds.

She lived each day of life to its fullest. She accepted her diagnosis and never throughout her journey did she complain or ask, “Why Me?”, She handled herself with nothing but courage, faith, positivity and grace.

She has inspired and taught so many people about the meaning of true happiness, living with peace and unconditional love. She truly brought joy to everyone she met and lit up any room she entered.

Mom had this ability to provide comfort, love and encouragement to anyone in need and always made each person feel as if they were the most important person in the world. This may be a problem when we get to eventually celebrate her life and everyone comes together claiming to be her favorite.

We will always remember her sense of humor, her stubbornness and that cheeky smile when she was up to no good. Even until the end with our permission to let go and be at peace she chose to do it in her own time. She never really did like being told what to do.

We would like to from the bottom of our hearts thank Dr. Samantha Gray and the amazing nurses and administrative staff from the oncology department at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Special mention to the following nurses: Pam, Rachael, Jennifer, Donna, Judith, Julianne, Marvin, Monica and Rhonda. We cannot begin to tell you how much we appreciated your professionalism, empathy, dedication, care and support to mom and us as well. You filled mom’s treatments with love, care and most importantly laughter.

Mom lived an amazing adventure filled 3 years with pancreatic cancer and each of you played a significant role in this. You are all truly exceptional people and will forever be in our hearts.

We would also like to thank all our family and friends for your continued support over the last three years. Even though we are all physically separated, we can still truly feel your warmth, love and support.

This is not goodbye forever as we know one day we will be reunited again.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119).
