Obituary of Martje Meijering

It is with great sadness that the family of Martje Meijering announces her peaceful passing at the Tofield Long Term Care Unit in Alberta on July 3, 2019.

Born in the Netherlands on May 30, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Geert and Tita Schaub. Dearly loved, Martje was a creative soul whose kindness touched everybody she knew. She was a woman who embodied incredible strength and benevolence and whose generosity knew no limitations.

Martje was predeceased by her husband, Teunis, daughter, Titia and two sons, Berend (Bay) and Geert. She is survived by her daughters, Susan (Terry) and Patricia (Weston), as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and extended family - all whom loved her deeply and will never forget her tenacity, wit, charm, and undying love and caring for them.

Our family wishes to extend our heartfelt appreciation for the kind and compassionate care received from the nurses and staff at the Tofield Long Term Care Unit. A special thank you to Martje's daughter-in-law Karol and grandson Owen who were by her side. As per Martje's wishes, there will be no funeral service. A gathering to celebrate Martje's life for family and friends will be held at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119), on Thursday, July 18, 2019 from 4-7PM. For those who wish, remembrances in memory of Martje may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
