Obituary of Craig O'Donnell
The death of Craig O'Donnell of Quispamsis, husband of Maureen (Hovey) O'Donnell, occurred on Friday, June 7, 2019 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
Born on August 18, 1959, in Ludlow, NB, he was a son of the late Gregg and Mary (Price) O'Donnell.
Craig had a long career with NB Power working as an operator at Chatham, Millbank, Belledune, Bayside, and Coleson Cove Generating Stations. Those that knew Craig respected him for his no-nonsense leadership and in-depth knowledge of power plant operation.
Craig was a passionate fan of music and performed in many local bands in the Miramichi area. He also loved his English Bull Terriers, aka ‘Intrepid Watch Dogs’ Leika, Binger, and current dog Myles.
Besides his wife, Craig is survived by his sons; Gregg (Carmen McKay) of Fredericton, and Randy (Amy Raynes) of Quispamsis, brothers; Kenny (Essie), Brian (Cheryl) both of Fredericton, Barry (Mary) of Edmonton, AB, Darcy (Susan) of Prince George, BC, and Carl (Norma) of Fort St. John, BC, grandchildren; Nicholas, William, Khloe, Alexander, Tori, and Eva.
Craig was predeceased by his mother Mary, his father Gregg, and his brothers; Keith and Douglas O'Donnell.
In keeping with Craig's wishes, there will be no formal visitation or funeral service. Friends are welcome to join the family for a gathering at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119) on June 18th from 6 - 8 PM. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Lung Association, Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick, or to the KV Oasis.
