Obituary of Frances Yvonne Shaw
In her 91st year after a brief illness, Frances Yvonne Shaw passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on January 30, 2016 in the presence of her loving family. Born in Saint John, NB on June 11, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Frank H. Arthurs and Viola T. Godfrey and the wife of the late Adrian Shaw.
Frances is survived by her two sons, Warren (Eva) of Edmonton, AB and Garth of Knightville, NB and one daughter, Carla of Quispamsis, NB; two sisters, Doreen (James) Campbell of Quispamsis, NB and Elva Jorgensen of Sussex, NB; grandchildren, Jordan Munn and Jodie Shaw; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She had a special place in her heart for Stacey Brown, Krista Munn and Gyan Gill. Frances was predeceased by her brother; Burton Arthurs and brother-in-law, Eric Jorgensen.
Frances was a member of Saint David's United Church of Canada, Rothesay, NB. Frances was employed at Dead River Ltd., Woodstock, NB and for many years with the New Brunswick Provincial Department of Municipal Affairs, Emergency Measures Organization, Fredericton, NB and Kings Landing. Her passion was mentoring and watching over her grandson, Jordan, as he grew up.
At the family’s request, no visitation will be held. A funeral service will be held at Saint David's United Church, 7 Gondola Point Road, Rothesay, NB on Tuesday, February 2, 2016, at 1:00 PM. Interment will take place at a later date at Fernhill Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, (506) 849-2119. Donations may be made to the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation - Palliative Care Unit or to a charity of the donor's choice.
