We were very saddened to learn of Leo's passing and extend our heartfelt sympathies and condolences to his wife and family for their loss. Although I knew Leo as an acquaintance for many years, I was formally introduced to him when we co-hosted the Fundy Cabke broadcast of the annual Remembrance Day Service held at the King's Square Cenotaph. From then on I knew him as a member of the Royal United Services Institute of New Brunswick, He was a great guy and will be remembered for his excellent service to education and to Canada's military. Our caring thoughts and prayers are with the extended family at this difficult time. Most sincerely,

I have a tear in my eye as I read about Leo (mr Pye) one of my favourite all time teachers at St Peters . When I was an adult he always said "frig will ya call me Leo?!"but I couldn't . He explained the meaning of the word "poly" in geometry like ,you know ,polywogs__ many wogs! Also remember Sergeant Pye coming to St Pius School on Remembrance Day to share his many stories . Both wonderful men .thanks Leo !

This is most sad news. So many of us have great and fond memories of Leo. Some of mine are from Island View School when I visited him and students for Heritage Fair projects. However, it is our 1970s meeting at the Armoury in service that I will have my most fond memories. For the past few decades he made the Officer's Mess. His legacy will be the cherished memories we carry for the rest of our lives. My deepest condolences to all of Leo's family and friends.

My deepest condolences to Wanda, Suzanne, Nathan, Isabel, and the entire family. Leo was one of a kind and will be deeply missed. He taught me at Holy Trinity, recruited me into the army, and became a great friend. Murratte Graves said it best when she wrote that the BGA Officers' Mess has lost its heart and soul. It is impossible to imagine the Mess without Leo, however his spirit and comradeship will live on.

He was quick to show you his keen sense of humour, but he also let you know he was meaning business, I was on the Remembrance Day Parade Committee for many years and liaised with Leo for his Broadcast. I enjoyed a few chats since we both retired and know he treasured his time running the Officer's Mess. "May you take comfort knowing we share in your loss and strength from our prayers." I was saddened to learn of Leo's death. The gift of his life was still with us through Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, departing as he would have it on Boxing Day, a day which he apparently celebrated with joy and enthusiasm in the company of friends and family. I must say that Leo's obituary was most beautifully written; capturing both character and soul. Leo, and my family, the McNulty's go back along way. Leo and my brother Barry, were great friends who shared an inimitable gift of imagination. That gift was passed on to all of us dirty faced and tattily dressed kids from Pill Hill. Leo was a neighbor, a hero, a friend, a teacher, and an inspiration to me. If possible, I would ask someone in attendance at the Reception at the Officers' Mess to raise a glass on my behalf in memory of Leo, and to pass this brief consolation on to his family and friends: "Rest now Leo for no longer the bugle calls."

Susie & I are saddened to learn of Leo's passing. He was one of the greatest guys that we had the pleasure of meeting. You should feel blessed to have shared a life with such a wonderful guy. We will always remember how the two of you would carry a song at the Gale's Annual Christmas Soiree. You could sing and Leo would try to carry the "Perfect Note"! Ha! Ha! He was most talented at "touching the lives" of his students and friends. A great guy who will be missed by everyone who knew him. God Bless You & Your Family; Gary & Susie Worrell
